Welcome to NeuroPlay Connections
NeuroPlay Connections is a free program for neurodivergent children and their families, held once a month for kids ten and under.
NeuroPlay Connections was built around one idea: there’s no single right way to show up here! Every child comes with their own strengths, interests, and way of moving through the world, and our job is to make room for all of it.
You will notice that we have thought about the small things: our rooms are set up to feel calm and easy to step into, because we know that walking into somewhere new isn’t always simple. Some kids run straight for the toys the second they walk in. Others hang back for a while and watch before they’re ready to join in. Some need to take a lap, find a quiet corner, or step outside for a minute. All of that is not just allowed here, it is expected, welcome, and encouraged.
The activities we plan are invitations, not requirements. The activities we plan are invitations, not requirements. There’s play, connection, gentle social practice, and chances to build confidence along the way. Each child joins in however works best for them, at whatever pace feels right that day.
Every Kid Belongs, Exactly as They Are
We did not build this program around one picture of what a child should look like, sound like, or do. Neurodivergence shows up differently in every kid, and so does everything else that makes them who they are: their personality, their family, their culture, their own particular way of being in the world. We are not here to smooth any of that out. We want to see it.
That means no two families who come through our doors will have quite the same experience, and that’s exactly how it should be. A child who stims openly, communicates in their own way, needs a long runway to warm up, or plays nothing like the kids around them is not something to fix or manage here. They are just a kid, being who they are. Whoever shows up alongside your child, be it siblings, parents, grandparents, whoever your family is, is just as welcome, exactly as they are too.
Acceptance here its not something you have to earn by fitting a mold. It’s where we start. You don’t need to explain your child, translate their behavior, or apologize for how they show up on any given day. We are already on your side, and if there’s something about your child we don’t understand yet, we would genuinely like to.
Our program provides companionship, connection, and family support rather than therapeutic services. It consists of a group of people who show up, listen, and actually mean it. We are here to help families feel less alone, share what we have learned, and build real connections with others who understand this particular stretch of the road. If your family is looking for something more clinical or specialized, we’re glad to help point you toward people who can offer that.
More than anything, we want one thing to be true when you walk through our doors: no judgment, nothing to perform, just a place where your child gets to be exactly who they are, and you get a couple of hours to exhale.
There is no pressure to perform. No pressure to participate. No pressure to stay.
Come as you are, stay for as little or as long as you’d like, and know that you belong.
